Science Program Officer
David Steuerman is passionate about Chemistry, Physics, and Data. He has contributed to major systems engineering efforts for the government, led research and development teams at a data-focused start-up, and was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Victoria in BC. His academic career focused on nanoscale fabrication, complex electrical and optical characterization, and instrumentation development. David completed his Ph.D. in physical chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles under the guidance of Jim Heath and worked closely with the Stoddart group. He received a California NanoSystems Institute postdoctoral fellowship to learn ultrafast magneto-optics as a member of David Awschalom’s group.
