Professor Gregory Herczeg

Associate Director for Science

I arrived at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at Peking University in 2011 and am currently an Associate Professor and Associate Director for Science. My research focuses on problems in star and planet formation, a field in which many new telescopes and instruments are providing amazing and unexpected glimpses into the early stages of planet formation and growth. I also serve as a Science Editor for AAS Journals and as the chair of the Science Advisory Committee for the Thirty Meter Telescope, planned to be one of three Extremely Large Telescopes for the 2030s.
